What to wear to a wedding
As a guest there is only one rule: white belongs to the bride. Beyond that, time and place matter. For a daytime or outdoor wedding, a short dress or a light long one in crêpe, chiffon or plissé works well, in rich or dusty colours; in the evening you can go for satin, a slit and an open back. In church, a stole or a shrug covers bare shoulders.

Long or short dress?
In the evening and at more formal ceremonies, long is the safest choice. By day, in the countryside or by the sea, a short or midi dress is just as elegant.
Can I wear black to a wedding?
Yes, especially in the evening: black worn well is elegant. By day, a colour is the better choice.
