How to choose
The fabric says a lot about the occasion. Satin and crêpe are the most versatile, elegant by day and by night; lace and tulle are more romantic; sequins and lurex are for evenings and parties. The silhouette: a mermaid dress follows the body to the knee and then flares, an empire line has a high waist and falls softly, and a slit gives movement to a long dress.
